Learn Stained Glass

On the last Saturday and Sunday of each month I host classes in my studio in Treherbert, Rhondda Cynon Taff. 

Choose between :  

1. Beginners Leaded Glass in a day.  No experience necessary. Learn how to make a small panel in leaded glass. I will teach you all the techniques needed to make a panel, including cutting glass to a pattern, leading up and cementing the panel. You will go home at the end of the day with a finished piece. A selection of designs will be provided for you to choose from. 

2. Beginners Copper Foiled Glass in a day. Learn how to make a small panel in copper foiled glass. This is also known as Tiffany Style glass. I will teach you all the techniques needed to make a panel, including cutting glass, and you will go home at the end of the day with a finished piece. A selection of designs will be provided for you to choose from.

3. Beginners Fusing. Depending on the time of year you can make Christmas decorations, sun catchers, jewellery or something else if you wish (just contact me to talk through options). Fusing is a technical process and requires a kiln at home, so this course is ideal for someone contemplating buying a kiln who wishes to try out the techniques beforehand, or for people who live locally to my studio who may wish to rent space in one of my kilns once they know the technique.

4. Stag or Hen Dos and Corporate events. It is possible to arrange half day courses for leaded or copper foiled panels as above. Students will be able to make a small panel each or perhaps work on a team project. Prices depend on the number of attendees and the price being made. Please contact me for a quote.

Classes run from 9.30 to 4pm. 

All materials (and lunch) are included in the price. Tools are provided for the class, and we have a selection of tools and materials available for you to buy to take home if you wish. 

A light lunch will be provided as well as tea and coffee throughout the day.

You need to wear long trousers and closed toed shoes. Long hair needs to be tied back.

The studio is in Treherbert, Rhondda Cynon Taff and the nearest station is Ynyswen. The station is a 5 minute walk from the station, or transport can be arranged. We can provide a list of B&Bs if you are travelling from a distance.
